Admin Dashboard

Once Wayground started actively selling to Schools and Districts, a recurring ask from school administrators was a monitoring dashboard. They wanted to know just how much teachers in their school were using Wayground, and whether it was a good purchase for them or not.

In this project, I had to figure out what needed to be built and then design it too. The Sales and Customer Support team were the major internal stakeholders here. I had several calls with them to understand the person of a school administrator and understand what data they were looking for.

The dashboard consisted of some top-level statistics filtered by time that helped them understand usage metrics.

A chart that showed the split of activities. Wayground wanted administrators to know that it wasn’t just used in the class but also used to give homework and also for administering tests. Along with a sample of some content that was created.

There was also a list of teachers sorted by the ones that used the platform the most. We wanted to highlight these teachers to the administrator incase they wanted to speak to one of them to understand whether they should continue with Wayground or not.

A common problem that Wayground would run into at most schools was the inability to get all people to use Wayground. The school would purchase Wayground for all its teachers but some could never be nudged to try the platform out.

We would send them marketing emails telling them about ourselves but it didn’t always work. So this section had a ‘resend invitations’ button that would go directly from the principal/administrator’s account. The idea was that they might ignore something from Wayground but would be less likely to do so if it came from an administrator from their own school.
